Parkland Reformed Church of Ponoka      Lord’s Day: June 8, 2008

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24.

We extend a hearty welcome to all our visitors who join us for worship on this Lord’s Day.  This morning we will be celebrating the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. All visitors wishing to partake and are members in good standing in a Christian Church and who have publicly professed their faith are most welcome to partake with us by filling out a request form whereby we confess with the church universal:

1.     I acknowledge I am a sinner and am truly sorry for all my sins.

2.     I truly believe in Jesus Christ as my only Savior.

3.     I seek to live a holy and godly life.

(Note: The glasses in the middle of each tray contain juice instead of wine.)

Whitehorse Inn Topics

June 8, 2008 Assuming the Gospel

What is the most important thing people need to regularly hear from the pulpit? Are churches guilty of assuming the gospel? These are some of the questions we put to pastors at a recent convention, and on this broadcast of the White Horse Inn the hosts will discuss these matters and interact with the results from our polls.

June 15, 2008 Using God: The Gospel of Pragmatism

Why do so many sermons and Bible Studies focus almost entirely on "practical" application? Is a particular belief true simply because it works for you? On this edition of the White Horse Inn, the hosts take a look at the philosophy of Pragmatism and its effects on contemporary Christian thought and practice.

June 22, 2008 Repentance & Personal Transformation

On the last edition of the White Horse Inn, the hosts discussed the problems associated with a pragmatic approach to the Christian faith. But does the Christian faith make a difference in a person's life? Is there a real "life-change?" How are we to think about remaining sin? These and other questions will be dealt with this week on the WHI.

June 29, 2008 Jesus, James & Paul

Do the messages of Jesus and Paul sometimes contradict one other? And what about James? Doesn't he teach that we are "justified by works, and not by faith alone"? Do various Biblical authors teach different theologies? That's what's on tap this week at the White Horse Inn (Originally broadcast on May 28th, 2006).

Can be heard on Edmonton : CJCA, 930AM: Sunday, 8:30AM and High River : CHRB, 1140AM: Sundays, 9pm live, or if you missed it can be heard online from: http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/The_White_Horse_Inn
